01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located conveniently at Drive Thru, 2 Ashenyards Park in Stevenston, Costa Coffee offers more than just a regular caffeine fix—it presents a warm, inviting refuge for coffee lovers and passersby alike. As a stalwart of the coffee shop and café scene in the United Kingdom, this Costa branch stands out for striking a delicate balance between comfort and contemporary style, creating a cozy nook where both routine visits and leisurely coffee stops feel special.

Customers frequently praise the genuine warmth and professionalism of the staff here. Elimane NDOYE’s reflection perfectly captures the spirit of this café, describing it as a "cozy nest" thanks to the benevolent service that transforms a simple coffee run into a pleasant, friendly experience. The atmosphere, although snug, is intentionally designed to foster intimacy and community—Alli’s observation of the space being "tight for space" only adds to that charming, homely vibe especially as the day fades into evening.

Costa Coffee is a reliable hotspot for those on the go. Sean Gray highlights its appeal as a “first class coffee stop” during motorcycle runs, underscoring the ease and convenience of this location along a dual carriageway. The drive-thru option enhances this accessibility, allowing you to grab your favorite cup without missing a beat in your day.

Beyond the friendly service and atmosphere, this café also delivers consistently on the food and drink front. From rich, expertly crafted espresso drinks to the indulgent cakes and food offerings, it meets the classic Costa expectations. Stephen Brown’s mention of a satisfying food and cake selection paired with the trusted Costa range affirms that quality is never compromised here, whether you’re after a comforting latte or a sweet treat.

While the venue is frequently bustling—testament to its popularity—there are some operational challenges noted by regular visitors like Robert Wilson, who points out the occasional seating issues during busy times. Nonetheless, this speaks to the café’s desirability and the lively community atmosphere it cultivates.

In essence, Costa Coffee at Stevenston embodies the quintessential coffee shop experience: a friendly, bustling hub with quality beverages and treats, wrapped in a welcoming atmosphere that encourages both quick stops and lingering moments. Whether you’re a local or just passing by, this café is an inviting spot to recharge, socialize, or simply savor the simple pleasures of a great cup of coffee.

For those who appreciate combining convenience with genuine warmth, Costa Coffee remains a dependable and charming choice in the heart of Stevenston.

The place is OK, but they really need to do something about the inconsiderate folk who come in and take a seat before they've ordered. It causes real issues when it's busy. The Saltcoats branch is much better at policing this and preventing anyone taking up seating before they have placed their order.

It was starting to get dark, and the atmosphere was lovely. It's Costa so food and drinks are mainly the same. It's tight for space, just makes it cosier

This Costa is well laid out, contemporary and has very friendly, professional staff. The location is ideal for passers and it is always busy. I enjoy the food and cake selection along with the usual Costa range of drinks. I also use the App to build points and then treat myself and my friends to a coffee every now and then. The location is central in that it is beside a dual carriageway on the confluence of KIlwinning and Stevenston. The store is always clean and well maintained.

I've visited this place several times while visiting relatives and thought it would be good to have my say. Spacious, clean, tidy and shiny new. All on the flat, so great for disabled access and parking right out front. Has a drive-through - my mind is still processing; we now have that! Has lots of indoor seating, outdoor seating and accessible disabled toilets. Has a great selection of snacks and goodies as well as the standard Costa menu of coffee. I visited at quiet times, but I can imagine this place getting VERY busy. I took a star off for personal reasons ( maybe unfair, but it's what I feel) - the staff. I did not feel particularly welcome, and the apathy of the staff was similar on every visit. On My last visit, I bought a huge coffee that cost around £7. My husband waited in the car. I struggled to get the lid on after adding my sweetener (I have cognitive issues and epilepsy, which affects my abilities). I tried but the lid was tricky. I got embarrassed, so I left without properly securing it and I was hardly out the door when I spilt the whole coffee everywhere, including over myself. My husband encouraged me to go for another and I did. Now it was perfectly obvious I had had a mishap and I asked for the same again whilst telling the girl I had spilt the last one. It was my fault, but had that been my business I would have hoped my staff would apply a bit of empathy to the situation and even give me a wee discount. In fact I just got the same apathetic attitude I've now come to expect in the shop. So, great shop shame about the staff.

Lovely coffee, great wee place to sit and chill out. Sofa could have been a bit cleaner, loads of crumbs on it. Apart from that, staff & service very nice. Had food also, warm, tasty and very quick
